So, let's see. Oh yeah. Chad had a birthday and the kids did Halloween. We were kind of surprised that they do Halloween here just like at home. Trick or Treat, etc., no special rules or ordinances. Micki dressed Goth to go to the complex's Halloween party. That was a joke. The next night on the 31st, she dressed as a gangster. Derek, well Derek is Derek.

So, onto the Surgery. I went to the consultation on a Thursday and was scheduled for surgery the following Wednesday. That meant I had to go in to the hospital and get poked and prodded, have my blood tested, etc., etc., to make sure I was healthy enough to go through surgery. There was then some misunderstanding between the hospital and my Dr. and my surgery times and dates were all messed up. I think it was just a matter of someone typing in the wrong day on accident, but it was frustrating, but did get straightened out eventually, although the surgery time changed about 3 times before I finally went in. Chad went with me, it was a bunch of hurrying up to wait. The surgery went fine with no complications and I was released later in the day. I was a sore mama for a while though. I'm actually having some complications now 2 months later with my inside stitches poking through my skin, and it's just very irritating. The surgery left an ugly looking scar so far, and a hideous belly button, if that's what you can call it. I guess I have to just wait and see how it will eventually look.

Here I am being wheeled off into surgery.

Here's my ugly stomach about a month after surgery. The stretch marks are from my pregnancy with Derek. Pretty, huh?

I haven't updated since I posted about the job interview or my upcoming surgery. Well, the interview went fine, they made me feel really relaxed and I really liked the interviewers. They were very warm. All in all it went well, but I didn't get the job. Actually, no one did, it's still vacant and they're not looking to fill it right now, apparently. I'm glad I went ahead and did it though, I would have wondered about it if I hadn't.
Boy, am I bad about keeping up with this or what! I guess it comes and goes in spurts. We're getting ready for Christmas, it's going to be low-key, but hopefully a nice holiday. Chad is off on both Christmas Eve and Christmas, which is extremely rare. We (I) plan on our normal Christmas Eve tradition. Going to Christmas Eve service at church. Our new church here also does 2 services, one at 5 pm and one at 6pm, pretty much the same as our church back home in Oregon. After that we'll go Christmas light seeing and order some take out Chinese or pizza. That part is kind of disappointing, as there's no good pizza or Chinese restaurants here. We'll just have to make do. We'll come home and the kids will get their new jammies, plus open up one gift and we'll play games, watch Christmas Story, read the birth of Jesus from the Bible, and just enjoy ourselves.

A little bit of me.
